Panini Press With Cheese on It

There are a lot of simple ways to clean a Panini press. Despite that, most of us forget to clean it regularly, thus it contains a lot of dirt and bacteria. I guarantee you that your Panini press can be as new in only a few minutes.

In the following text, I mentioned six ways to clean your Panini press, plus one extra tip to help you avoid cleaning altogether.

Before we start, it is crucial to declare that you should be exceptionally cautious and unplug it. Then, wait for it to cool before cleaning anything.

Furthermore, since small kitchen appliances are easy to break down, you should be careful when cleaning, thus this article will mention a couple of ways to clean a Panini press without damaging it.

How to Clean a Panini Press (Sandwich Press)?

Before we start, here are some important things to remember:

  • Never clean the appliance while it is plugged in!
  • Never use abrasives, petrol, or cleaning solvents.
  • Be sure to let the Panini press cool before cleaning it.
  • Lastly, never put Panini press into the water (sink)!

Cleaning Immediately After Use

We will start with the simplest way to keep the Panini press clean.

First of all, after use, unplug it, and wait for it to cool. Then, wipe the outside with a soft and wet cloth, and clean the surface inside the Panini press after each use. If you really do it immediately after use, then it is enough to use a sponge or a cloth that is soft so as not to scratch the inside.

And that is it! Do this every time after use, and there will be no problems. Your toaster will always be like new!

Cleaning With a Wet Cloth

Wait for the Panini press to cool. It is difficult to clean it because the food sticks to metal plus you could get burned.

Do not touch the surface with metal objects as it will damage it. Once damaged, there is no repair.

Put a soaked and drained cloth in your Panini press. Cover and wait 10-15 minutes.

After that, everything should go down easily, with a sponge or cloth. Not with sharp objects! Not even a scrubbing wire!

Cleaning Using Dishwashing Detergent

You can try a mild dishwashing detergent. Spray the inside of the Panini press and wait for it to stand for a while (10-15 minutes). Then wipe with a clean, dry cloth.

The problem should be solved.

Cleaning With Baking Soda

Another great method to clean a Panini press is using a mixture of baking soda and water. Yea, that baking soda that all of us have laying around the kitchen.

Add two tablespoons of baking soda to a half cup of hot water. Mix them until you get a yogurt-like substance. Apply the mixture onto your bottom press and make sure you cover everything. Then close the press and let it stay for 10-15 minutes.

After the time is up, use a wet cloth to clean down the press. Make sure you get every part and your appliance will be as shiny as new!

Cleaning Cheese Leftovers

It should not be much hard to remove the remains of the cheese. Namely, you only need to have a wooden or plastic spatula.

Wait for the appliance to cool down after unplugging it, but also for the cheese to solidify, because, after that, cleaning will be much easier.

Once everything has cooled, take a spatula and gently scrape off the leftovers until everything is clean.

If there are still small stains, you can try the trick with a wet cloth, or some mild dishwashing detergent.

Cleaning Stainless Steel Panini Press

For stainless steel Panini presses, there is an interesting trick. It requires a soft kitchen cloth, as well as vinegar.

Firstly, prepare a mix of vinegar and water in a ratio of one to one. Immerse the cloth in this solution and gently mop the inside of the Panini press until the stains are cleaned.

After that, leave it to stand, and after ten minutes, wipe it with another clean kitchen cloth.

Baking Paper to Prevent the Stains

For all of us who hate to clean the hardened stains from a Panini press, here is a trick to prevent stains inside the toaster: baking paper!

Before using the Panini press, place this paper on the underside, and all the cheese stains and the like will remain on that paper. After that, you can throw it away, or use it one more time, depending on the number of stains left.

Make Your Panini Press as Good as New!

The next time you see stains inside the toaster, remember these ways to remove stains, and don’t worry! There is a solution for everything!

I hope that these tips will help you regularly maintain your Panini press and enable it to serve you longer, but also to work better.
